Museum Tekstil was built to honor the late Madam Tien Soeharto, Indonesia’s First Lady, where she officiated the opening on June 28, 1976. This museum which is a high-roofed and one-storey building is located at Jalan K.S. Tubun in the West of Jakarta. The building was constructed by a Frenchman and later was sold to the Turkish Consul, and he added buildings on both sides of the estate. If you come to this museum, you can visit several places, namely the museum itself, the library, the dye garden, the batik gallery, and the cafe. This museum opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm and closes every Monday. By visiting this museum, you can enrich your knowledge about the history of Batik and its collections from various provinces in Indonesia.
